Financial Sector Deepening (FSD) Kenya is pleased to announce that Anzetse Were has joined the team as Economist, effective September 2019.

A development economist, Anzetse brings with her over ten years’ experience working in Africa on Economic Research, Analysis and Strategy Development with a focus on Macroeconomics; Manufacturing; Private Sector Development; the Informal Economy and Sino-African Relations. Over her career, Anzetse has worked with African governments, private sector, development finance institutions, non-profit organisations, as well as academia and think tanks.

“We are excited to have Anzetse join our team,” said Tamara Cook, CEO of FSD Kenya. “She brings a wealth of experience that will enhance our work to inspire the financial sector to provide real value for Kenyan families and enterprises.”

Anzetse has a Masters in Economics from the University of Sydney (Australia) and a Bachelor’s degree from Brown University (USA).
