FSD Kenya partnered with the World Bank, ILRI and other partners to support the Kenyan Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries (MoALF) to develop a National Agricultural Insurance Scheme. The project builds on insights from the earlier Index-Based Weather Insurance (IBWI) and Index-Based Livestock Insurance (IBLI) pilots that the institutions had supported development and implementation through public and private partnerships. The policy document set the stage for the government to develop the components of the agricultural insurance schemes that included premium subsidy and data management among other support.
