Mugwe is an experienced green finance, renewable energy and carbon asset developer with a 15-year history of establishing and growing companies. He has served as a Special Advisor on Power and Climate in the Vice President's Office at The Rockefeller Foundation, Africa Regional Office, where he helps shape policies and initiatives related to power and climate. Additionally, he acts as a Board Advisor at ICEA Lion Insurance Group and Vision Fund Kenya. Mugwe's leadership is demonstrated through his role at Olsuswa Energy Limited, a private greenfield geothermal company in Kenya, which achieved recognition among the top 50 firms in the Future Shapers ELITE network at the London Stock Exchange (LSE) in 2020, highlighting his ability to drive business success. Through his book The Energy Future of Africa, he offers insights into opportunities and challenges in the African energy, green hydrogen and carbon sectors, drawing from his experience in navigating regulatory complexities and stakeholder management on the continent. Mugwe is a Business Daily Africa Top 40 Under 40 achiever of 2022 and a Tutu Fellow Class of 2023.
