John Paul Otieno
John is a seasoned Marketer & Business strategist. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Science (BSc) with a bias in Biology. He has worked in the Marketing department for various insurance companies over the last ten years, including AIG, UAP, Madison and lastly Xplico Insurance where he was the Head of Marketing. He is currently the Co-founder and CEO of Insurance for All, a company that seeks to provide simple, affordable and relevant micro-health insurance products to low-income earners in Africa. The company has launched its first product –afyaPoa- which provides In and Outpatient benefits as well as funeral and hospital cash for the whole family.

Through its AfyaPoa range of products, Insurance for All (IFA) has been delivering affordable and relevant protection to underserved Kenyans in the informal sector for over two years. Intending to broaden its reach through new gig economy partnerships and strengthen and improve its products and distribution approaches, IFA, with support from FSD Kenya and research assistance from 17 Triggers, conducted a four-month research and design phase followed by a six-month pilot.
