Jared Getenga is the Chief Executive Officer of CIS Kenya, whose mandate is to foster the generation and use of accurate credit information for the benefit of all participants in Kenya’s credit market. Jared pioneered establishment of the Credit Information Sharing mechanism in Kenya and also serves as founding Secretary, Africa Credit Information Sharing Association. Prior to that, he had a distinguished career as a bank supervisor and policy specialist at the Central Bank of Kenya and later as Financial Sector Specialist at the World Bank’s Financial and Legal Sector Technical Assistance Project (FLSTAP). On various occasions, the CBK entrusted Jared with responsibilities as Statutory Advisor, Statutory Manager and Liquidation Agent of several distressed institutions under the Deposit Protection Fund, prior to its transformation to KDIC. Jared holds a BCom and MBA, Finance from the University of Nairobi and has a number of certifications, including Certified Global Association of Risk Professional, Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (CISI-UK), Certified Professional Mediator, and Certified Expert in Financial Inclusion. He is passionate about contributing to financial sector stability in the interest of enhancing access to finance.
