At Bankable Frontier Associates (BFA), Jeff Abrams has focused on business models and product design to facilitate the affordable financing of housing and related basic infrastructure in urban informal settlements; and strategic planning and analysis of market-based initiatives to extend the “bankable frontier” for effective savings accounts. Currently, Jeff manages the GAFIS (Gateway to Financial Innovations for Savings) program, working with five leading banks—from five countries across three continents—to innovate products and related business models for delivering formal savings to the poor. Jeff's work in BFA’s housing finance practice includes the development of strategies for enabling, designing, and delivering effective housing finance products for low-income segments.
