Victor Malu
As the head of future financial system, Victor leads FSD Kenya’s work in supporting the creation of a platform for inclusion through the formal financial system. He identifies opportunities for FSD Kenya project investments and markets FSD Kenya’s programme to high potential partners across the private sector, non-profit institutions and government. He takes lead responsibility for developing and managing a portfolio of projects under the future financial systems by providing oversight and technical advice in its implementation and dissemination of results to key stakeholders. His other roles include managing resources required to implement these projects and participating in effective management of wider FSD Kenya programme by providing all reasonable support to the Director in ensuring that FSD Kenya’s Trustees are able to execute their obligations under the Trust deed.

The Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning has published a draft National Rating Bill 2021 to allow for stakeholder engagement. The Bill seeks to repeal the current Valuation for Rating Act of 1956 (Cap 266) and the Rating Act of 1963 (Cap 267) and seeks to modernize the rating laws to conform them to Article 209 (3) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 which empowers county governments to impose property taxes.
